Coach Barton is entering his 36th year as a basketball coach and has been in the San Antonio area since 1997 at Medina Valley, Reagan, and Harlan. In his first year at Cornerstone Christian School the Lady Warriors went 24 – 7 and won the TCAF State Championship and was named TCAF Coach of the Year. Previous schools Coach Barton taught and coached at include, Madisonville High School (TX), Liberal High School (KS), Coolidge High School (TX) before moving to San Antonio in 1997. Coach Barton was also a Graduate Assistant for Leonard Hamilton at Oklahoma State University in 1988/89, when the school was part of the Big 8 Conference. He has been a Head Basketball coach for 27 years and currently has 516 career wins. In his career he has coached football, baseball, softball, and track and led Reagan High School to the 6A State Tournament in 2012. Coach Barton is approaching his 25th wedding anniversary to Jill Barton who is also an educator at Communications Arts High School and has 2 kids Kristopher (23) and Kathleen (19).
