Funding Faith-Based Education Through TEFA

New Education Freedom Accounts make private Christian education more accessible than ever.

Big changes are coming to education in Texas. Beginning in 2026, families will have access to the new Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) program—an initiative designed to expand school choice and help parents select the educational environment that best fits their child.

Through TEFA, qualifying families can receive state funds—typically around $10,000 per student, and up to $30,000 for students with disabilities—to help cover tuition and other approved educational expenses at eligible private schools like Cornerstone Christian Schools.

For many families, this marks a new opportunity to align their child’s education with their values, faith, and academic goals.

At Cornerstone Christian Schools, we believe parents are the primary educators of their children. Programs like TEFA empower families to choose a Christ-centered education that nurtures both the mind and the heart.

Students at CCS benefit from a fully accredited academic program, competitive athletics, vibrant fine arts, and a strong faith foundation that prepares them for college, career, and calling. With the introduction of TEFA, families who have dreamed of a private Christian education may find it more accessible than ever before.

The TEFA program is expected to begin accepting applications in January 2026, with funds becoming available for the 2026–2027 school year. Eligible expenses include tuition, uniforms, books, tutoring, therapies, assessments, and more.
