Sports have always played a significant role in shaping the moral character of our students. Teamwork, self-sacrifice, courage, stamina, perseverance, hard work, self-control -- these values are forged in competition. Our athletic program lives by the highest code of sportsmanship. At CCS, we play hard, we play by the rules, and we have fun.
Andrea Wagner was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and has joined the CCS family as an Assistant Athletic Director overseeing communications and sport information, as well as the Head Girls Cross Country and Track coach. In her first year at CCS, the Cross-Country team won its first State Championship title, and the Track team won its second State Championship title.
In 2002, Coach Wagner began running marathons and has completed 52 marathons since then. She emerged as an elite marathon runner in 2014 when she won the Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon. She then went on to qualify for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials by running a personal best of 2:41:05 at the 2014 Chicago Marathon, finishing in the top 20 women. She previously worked as a program manager for Girls on The Run teaching young girls the importance of self-confidence and physical fitness and has also been a private running coach for all distances.
Andrea holds an undergraduate degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from Clemson University and a Master’s degree in Communication, Culture & Technology from Georgetown University, as well as her Doctorate Degree in Communication Studies and Sport Management from the University of Alabama.
