International Student Admissions Policy

Cornerstone Christian Schools resolves to provide a Christ-centered, quality education to all students. We accept Christian students from families who profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

International Student Admissions Policy Philosophy of Admissions

 

The ultimate purpose of our school is to provide a Christ-centered, quality education. Therefore, we accept Christian students of families and host families who profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Admission Process

  • Applicants may not be under behavioral probation, suspension, expulsion or any other behavioral restrictions from a school attended in the last three years.
  • Applicants must live with their parent(s), legal guardian(s) or CCS approved host family.
  • Applicants must be compliant with all immunizations as required by the state of Texas prior to issuance of I20. If a student is not compliant with their immunizations prior to issuance of I20, students will not be allowed to attend school until they are compliant even if all other paperwork is complete and tuition is paid. Physicals are required for all athletes in grades six through twelve.

 

  • At least one parent, legal guardian and host family member must be a professing, practicing Christian.
  • Beginning in third grade, students must be able to give a fundamental statement of faith based on the child's developmental level. 
  • Applicants must be able to give a fundamental statement of faith (i.e., who is Jesus, what is sin, etc.) and give testimony of an active, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

 

  • Students transferring from another school will be reviewed for the following: 
  • Academic readiness for the grade applied for 
  • Grade level ability demonstrated on the Renaissance Learning 360 STAR assessment (if applicable) 
  • Applicants to High School may not have more than two failed credits in core courses from a previous school. Failed credits must be retaken and passed.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a “C” (2.0 average on a 4.0 scale) in core academic courses.
  • Transcript/report card must be sent to Foreign Credentials Service of America to provide a general statement of equivalency, as well as a detailed course-by-course listing which can be used to award transfer credits to the school.
  • Applicants must present recommendations from a current principal, teacher or other recognized educator who can attest to the applicant’s academic ability and/or performance, at the request of CCS administration.
  • Applicants must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently.
