Elementary Assistant Principal Jo Lynn Burke comes to Cornerstone Christian Schools from two Christian schools in Arkansas: First Baptist Christian School in Rogers where she was Principal for the past three years and Shiloh Christian School in Springdale where she taught grades 3-5 for fifteen years and also served as Curriculum Coordinator for two of those years.
Mrs. Burke describes the passion of her life as Christian education. “I have an uncompromising view that every child deserves to achieve his or her God-given potential to learn, to be given a positive learning atmosphere that welcomes inquiry and exploration. Students deserve enhancement of their confidence which occurs when this learning is provided from a Biblical Worldview. When students are taught a sense of value and worth that is only found in Jesus Christ, and when they are challenged to set and meet goals, they will LEARN.”
Mrs. Burke Received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and her Master of Science in Education in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
Mrs. Burke was recognized in Who’s Who of American Teachers and Teacher of the Year, Shiloh Christian School (2007). She has been a presenter of teaching strategies for ACSI educator conventions as well as a Master Teacher/Moderator for the Online Professional Learning Community based in Heber Springs, AR 2012-13.
Mrs. Burke has been married to Brad Burke for 26 years, and they have five children: Ben, Douglas, Justin, Catie Lou, and Shaun.
